IF YOU WANT TO WORK IN CANADA OR
WANT TO BECOME A CANADA RESIDENT, PLEASE READ:

WARNING: DO NOT BELIEVE ANYBODY THAT ASK YOU FOR MONEY TO GET YOU A CANADIAN
RESIDENCE, OR A JOB IN THIS COUNTRY.  You can be sure that that person is a thief.  BESIDES, THE
ECONOMICAL CRISIS HAS CHANGED EVERYTHING.  THREE MONTHS AGO IT WAS EASY TO GET
A JOB IN CANADA, BUT TODAY IT IS NOT.  If you don't get a job's offer and a contract from an employer,
don't even think of coming to Canada.  Canada is an expensive country.

CANADA, this great nation, grants every year more than 90,000 {ninety thousand} work visa (work permit) to
people of all countries. People of all nationalities arrive to this wonderful earth every day with the hope of a better
life.  For this reason we decide to create this Website to explain to whom has interest in coming to Canada, all that
are about the laws and requirements to be able to work and live in Canada. What does Canada requests to grant a
residence, a work permit or a student visa?  All those doubts will be clarified for you in this Site.

Canada welcomes people from every country.  Canadian people are very kind; but its laws are very clear and it is
very important to follow them. If you are planning to work here for a while or yearns to live here for many years,
there are things you should know before leaving your country to avoid being deceiving or getting a sad surprise
when you arrive here.  Firstly, you have to ask yourself:  What is the best city to find a job?  What is the best
place to live?

Not all Canadian cities have jobs. There is a world crisis at this moment and it is hitting this country, too. There
are cities like Toronto and Quebec that have a very high unemployment. Then, if you decide to move to Canada,
and you choose one of those places because your cousin told you or because an Employment Agency sold it to
you, I guarantee you that you will be disappointed. Getting jobs in those places is extremely hard. And if you get
it, you hardly make enough to eat. So be very careful with the deceiving job offers that some lawyers like to sell
to naive people.

At this moment of the 14 Canadian states(provinces) just in "two" you can find a job as soon as you arrive here,
even if you do not have a college degree or a high English level.
In the File that I will send to you, you will find the name of those two provinces where you can find a job right
away. If somebody tell you the opposite, simply consider him out of news.  Only in these two provinces you get a
job on the following day, but not in the other ones. Please keep this in mind, since this is absolutely true.

Toronto, Quebec and Vancouver are beautiful and big cities but they all have a high unemployment rate and the
wages are very low, of course, they are not good places to begin a new life and to achieve a future full with
progress. Again, be careful with those people that arrive to your country treating to impress you with wonderful
job offers and asking you for a lot of money. They like to rent a hotel for a conference where they promise you a
good job and a good salary, and later ask you for a lot of money.   Never believe them.  Never!  They just enjoy
tricking on people.  They like cheating on you.  They are trickers.  If someone ask you for more than $20 dollars
to get you a job in Canada, do not believe him.  It is against Canada laws to ask for money.  So, if they ask you
for money is because they are not honest people. Keep your eyes open.  Many people have been tricked. You
better believe me.

All that you need to know to move to Canada, either in your own or hired by a company, you will find it in the
File I will sent to you. If you are a professional with a university degree and has a high English level, the doors are
opened for you. If you are a mechanic a carpenter, etc, and you know some English, many doors are opened for
you. If you did not finished high school and do not know any English, you too could find some doors open.  You
could also become a resident as soon as in one or two years.
As I already told you, Canada has a place for everyone. But you have to know very well which is the right place
for you.  You will learn this in the File I will send to you.

Right now Canada has "three programs” to help people from any country to come here for work, and after some
time here, all immigrants can apply for one of these programs to become a resident.  First, Skilled workers is a
program for college graduated. Second, Canadian experience Class for foreign students who have got a degree
from a Canadian university; and third, Provincial Nominate for people from any country who are working here in
any kind of job, specially, low paid jobs.  As you can see, anyone has a change here.

What do you need to do to apply and get a job here, and later be a Canada resident?, that is what you will learn in
the File.  Open the File thoroughly and you will knows all the possibilities that Canada has kept for you.
In this File you will find how to come here as a tourist and then to get a Work Permit.  Anybody can do this.
You will also find the names of the two provinces that you will get a job the next day after you arrive here. The
cities’ names where you must arrive.  The people who are willing to hire you, even if you has not Work Permit.
The place where people from your country live here. Free English Programs; churches that help you in your
language, and can get you a place to live if you do not have one.  Where to rent a room, an apartment or share
one.  People who give you all you could need for your apartment for free. People who give you winter clothes for
free. And much more.

Now is the best time to come to Canada; don’t miss this opportunity.  Later things could change! Too many
people are arriving here every day. If you come late, chances are that you find the doors closed.

Alberta needs people to fill in job vacancies. Large retail stores ( Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Staples, Best Buy,
etc,), hotels ( Westin, Ramada, Quality Inn, etc), grocery stores ( Superstore, Safeway), construction companies
or contractors, beverage companies like Tim Hortons and food chain outlets - Mcdonald’s, A&W,EDO( Japanese
food),Subway, KFC, they are all hiring.

(
NEVER ACCEPT AN OFFER FROM MCDONALD'S RESTAURANTS. THEY EXPLOIT YOU).

2) The placement should be paid by the employer NOT by the employee. POEA has issued an advisory memo to
local Philippine recruiting agencies to abide by this rule of they can lose their license. Alberta, along with
Saskatchewan, British Columbia and Manitoba have a legislation prohibiting recruiters from charging placement
fee to employees.

3) The application to hire foreign workers which is submitted by the employer to Service Canada to obtain a
positive Labour Market Opinion (LMO), on average takes 6 to 8 months, UNLESS the occupation falls under the
ELMO (expedited labour market opinion) category. Those occupations that fall under the ELMO should only take
5 days to process.

4) In Manila, processing work permit applications may take 6 to 8 months, due to backlog. So many applicants,
not enough immigration officers. In other countries, work permit applications on average take 3 to 4 months.

5) For trades skills, such as, welders, carpenters, pipe fitters, mechanics, that have licensing requirements, foreign
workers who hold work permit need to pass the certification examination within 6 months from arrival, or their
work permit will not be renewed. They are issued a one year work permit, which is renewable if they pass the
qualifying exam. Within six months, they can write the exam 2 times, in some special cases they are allowed 3
times.

6) Foreign workers who work in food chain outlets as food servers can only work for 2 years, then they must exit
Canada. After four months, they may re-enter Canada again on work permit if they are either re-hired by their
present employer or if they find another employer.

7) Foreign workers who work in semi-skilled occupations in the hospitality industry, such as front desk clerks and
room attendants ; food processing and beverage, such as Tim Hortons, or Maple Leafs farm; manufacturing such
as assembly line workers; have a chance of applying for Permanent Resident status through Alberta’s Provincial
Nominee Program (PNP). However, there is a limit on how many an employer can appoint for PNP. A large
company who employs 451 and more employees can only appoint 18 foreign workers maximum a year.

Clearly, most of these foreign workers will have to leave Canada after two years. Only a few fortunate ones,
those who are appointed by their employers for PNP application can remain and eventually become Permanent
residents,as long as they meet all the requirements for Permanent Resident application.

When I went to West Edmonton Mall, considered the biggest in the world, I walked around the food court area
and most of the food servers are Filipino foreign workers. Hotels’ room attendants are also mostly Filipino foreign
workers. I spoke to someone who is working at KFC and she said she’s been working in Alberta for one year but
worries that she will go back to the Philippines after her second year. The majority of food chain workers have
the same fear. Fast food outlets do not qualify to appoint foreign workers for PNP. One fortunate man.also a
Filipino foreign worker I met who works as an assistant manager in one of Tim Horton’s outlets has already been
appointed, meaning he was nominated by his employer for PNP and is eligible to apply for Permanent Resident
status.

There are plenty of jobs but the majority of Albertan employers prefer to fill the job vacancies either locally or
inter-provincially. They think hiring foreign workers is costly. They have to pay the placement fee, they may have
to pay the airfare and relocation costs. Also, it is a longer process to bring in foreign workers. Certainly, for
Canadian residents, citizens and permanent residents, Alberta offers better and more employment opportunities.
My 21 year old daughter came with me, gave out resumes to retail stores in West Edmonton Mall and got a job
offer on the spot. Within 24 hours she got 2 more job offers. There is one downside to working in Alberta,Finding
an affordable place to rent.

If you know anyone who is interested in working in Canada, whether they are in the Philippines or in other
countries, tell them to email their resumes to :

7 things you should say in an interview
by Mark Riddix, Investopedia.com
Wednesday, April 21, 2010

Today's job market is as competitive as ever. You need to be able to effectively communicate you skill set so that
you will give yourself the best competitive advantage to secure employment. During the interview process, you
want to highlight as many of your strengths as possible. An easy way to do this is by slipping a few simple phrases
into your next job interview. Here are seven things you should say in an interview.

1. I am very familiar with what your company does.
Letting a prospective employer know that you are familiar with what a company does shows that you have a
legitimate interest in the business and are not just wasting their time. Do your homework before arriving for an
interview. Check out the company website for information about products and services. Search for the latest
transactions and pertinent business news.

Be sure to let the interviewer know that you are familiar with the newest company acquisition or the latest
product that was just developed. Explain how your skills and experience are a perfect fit for the employer.

2. I am flexible.
Work environments are always changing. Prospective employers are looking for candidates that are open to
change and can adapt at a moment's notice. In today's fast paced business world, employees must have the ability
to multi-task.

Stating that you are adaptable lets an employer know that you are willing to do whatever is necessary to get the
job done. This may mean working additional hours or taking on additional job duties in a crunch. Show your
potential employer that you are equipped to deal with any crisis situation that may arise.

3. I am energetic and have a positive attitude.
Employers are looking for candidates with optimism and a "can-do" attitude. Attitudes are contagious and have a
direct affect on company morale. Let the optimist in you shine during the interview process.

Be sure to always speak positively about past employers. Negative comments and sarcastic statements about past
employers and co-workers will make you look petty. If you bad mouth your past company, employers are liable
to believe that you will do the same thing to them.

4. I have a great deal of experience.
This is your chance to shine. Highlight any previous job duties that relate directly to your new job. If it is a
management position, state every time that you were responsible for the supervision, training and development of
other employees. Discuss your motivational techniques and specific examples of how you increased productivity.
Feel free to list any training classes or seminars that you have attended.

5. I am a team player.
Do you remember when you were young and your teacher wanted to know if you could work well with others?
Well the job market is no different! Companies are looking for employees that are cooperative and get along well
with other employees. Mentioning that you are a team player lets your prospective employer know that you can
flourish in group situations. Employers are looking for workers that can be productive with limited supervision and
have the ability to work well with others.

6. I am seeking to become an expert in my field.
Employers love applicants that are increasing their knowledge base to make themselves the best employees
possible. Stating that you are aiming to become an expert causes employers to view you as an asset and not a
liability. You are a resource that other employees can learn from.

This is also a subtle way of illustrating that you have an attitude of excellence. You are aiming to be the best at
what you do! This will let employers know that you are not just a fly-by-night employee, but in it for the long run.

7. I am highly motivated.
A motivated employee is a productive employee. Talk about how your high level of motivation has led you to
accomplish many things. If you are a meticulous worker, discuss your organizational skills and attention to detail.
Companies are always looking for dependable employees that they can count upon.

The Bottom Line
Remember that a job interview is an opportunity to sell yourself to a prospective employer. Be sure to slip in the
right phrases to give you the best chance possible of securing that cushy corner office on the ninth floor.

Five Must-Ask Interview Questions
As the economy picks up, companies are starting to hire more. But managers often only get funds for a few key
hires, so they have to select new employees wisely. That makes conducting a smart interview critical.
Reporter Willa Plank checked in with Ben Dattner, founding principal of organizational consulting and research
firm Dattner Consulting, to get his interview advice.

Here are his five must-ask interview questions:
1. In what ways will this role help you stretch your professional capabilities?
This is a reversal of the common question, "What are some of your greatest weaknesses?" Normally candidates
dress up their weaknesses, or talk about "positive weaknesses" such as a tendency to work too hard.

Phrased Dr. Dattner's way, this question may better prompt the candidate to describe skills she wants to improve
and goals she'd like to achieve. Watch out for candidates who say the prospective job would simply incrementally
add to what they already know.

2.
What have been your greatest areas of improvement in your career?
This is another question that gets at weaknesses, but in a new way. It also allows interviewees to tell their career
histories and ambitions. A red flag answer: "I've always been a natural. I don't need to make any improvements."

3.
What's the toughest feedback you've ever received and how did you learn from it?
This shows a candidate's ability to learn from mistakes. A good answer would involve the candidate recalling
specific feedback and detailing how she learned from it and changed. Sometimes candidates say they can't
remember tough feedback. That can be a red flag. It may indicate the interviewee hasn't worked in a high-risk or
creative environment, that she has never solicited advice, or that her co-workers viewed her as too fragile for
feedback.

4.
What are people likely to misunderstand about you?
This question reveals social intelligence, or the ability to understand others. A candidate might say he asks a lot of
questions, and that some people have misinterpreted this inquisitiveness as aggression or criticism. If the candidate
says he once found himself in this situation and changed his managerial style, that would indicate he can sense
other people's perceptions and adapt.

5.
If you were giving your new staff a "user's manual" to you, to accelerate their "getting to know you" process,
what would you include in it?

This lets the candidate reveal her work style. A straight answer should indicate the interviewee is self-aware. For
example, a candidate might reveal that she prefers to hold conversations in person rather than over the phone, that
she likes to be kept in the loop or that she dislikes surprises. Those answers can help a hiring manager determine
whether the candidate's style fits with the office culture. A bad answer, Dr. Dattner says, would be: "Just do your
job and there won't be any problem," or " They'll figure it out soon enough."
